April Showers bring May records!!!
The past weekend was a great weekend for the entire Hanna Motorsports team. Jill Canuso raced her Queen of Diamonds in Crofton, MD and the funny car duo raced the Super Chevy Show at Virginia Motorsports Park.
Jill made 4 runs over two days and after a series of adjustments to the machine, she clocked her best MPH to date of 296.5 with an E.T. of 5.39! The car’s previous best was done in Budds Creek, MD last August where Jill ran 295.5. Jill, Rodney and Al were all happy with the outing and the best speed to date for the new QOD II. The next goal for the new car is 300mph and now it is just that much closer….Rich Hanna and Ken Hall wowed the fans in VA but not only with smoke, fire and thunder. Performance would be the last ingredient for the fan’s pleasure making this race weekend memorable for all. Ken has driven for the team for 12 seasons and has posted a best time of 5.68 @ 279.8mph during that span. That would all change Saturday as he first recorded a 5.70@279 in rd 1 vs. his teammate but then turned the wick up in rd 2 with an incredible 5.64@283mph resetting both ends of his all-time personal bests. Rich clocked a respectable best of 5.75@275mph but the stage was all Ken Hall’s and the XLerator machine. A new afterburner and pump installed over the 2 week layoff was the difference maker in the power department with the car reacting noticeably. All in all, it was a weekend the team soon won’t forget. Next stop is May 30-June 1
